Dear friends,

Just the other day, I came across this quip by Coleman Richrock "The world does not need a church service but what the world needs is the church's service".

Oh, how those words hit like lightning, especially at a time like this! No better time for the church to render its service to the world.

Jesus said in Mat 5:13-14 that we are the salt and the light of the world. In a similar manner, Paul exhorts that all kinds of prayers be made for all men 1Tim 2:1. These are the services that we must render to the world.

We are the source of sweetness and illumination in a world of bitterness and darkness

We are the source of courage in a world of despair

We are the source of healing in a world of affliction

We are the source of succour in a world of hopelessness

We are the source of power-exuding-prayer in a world of weakness

We are the source of wonder-working faith in a world gripped with fear

We are the source of love in a world of hatred

Kings and priests, this is what we must do! We are the church not the million-dollar buildings. Jesus didn't die for the buildings, he died for you and I. All through the book of the Acts of the Apostles, the church met in houses. Let's make power available from our "house churches" and reach the world with our priceless services.

This is not to downplay the importance of our gathering together for it is in gathering that we learn about the Father, our realities in the Son and the mighty working of the Spirit in us. We should fellowship together, but so much more, we should reach out to the world.

Stay God-inside-minded!

Laced with love,
